The Biomedical Engineering Student Society (BMESS) is an organization that is meant for biomedical engineering majors, as well as others with interest in the biomedical engineering field, hoping to further their career by making connections, participating in design competitions, and hoping to learn more about going into industry or graduate school.

Branches of our organization:

  • Professional Development : The executive board communicates with people in industry and professors in the biomedical engineering field.  They may setup meetings with professors to have them talk about their research or plan similar events with industry professionals.
  • Service and Outreach:  We want our organization to grow and reach as many people as possible; therefore, we work to market our organization to incoming members. We also want to impact the society around us and make it a better place for all. For this reason we setup service events.
  • Social: We understand the importance of community and networking, especially during our college years. Our exec team works to plan fun things for BMESS members to meet each other and build meaningful connections.
  • Design Team: As engineers, we enjoy problem solving and engaging in real world tasks. Through design team, members can actively participate in a real-life industry projects and gain exposure to the process of design. We work with a project from start to finish, highlighting each step and enhancing our teamwork and communication skills.
